Drivers seat in bad shape?

Post by wolins » Thu Sep 18, 2014 8:09 pm

Ive put a depoait down on a 10 plate x5 m sport, however not happy with the state of the drivers seat. It is from a bmw dealer and the lower bolster looks all but collapsed and creased. All the rest of the aeats look perfect and unmarked. Ive just sold a 59 x6 with same miles and sriver seat was perfect.

Whats the chances of the dealer rectifying it?

Also complained about badly corroded 333m wheels and some of the black trim around windows

Not what id expect on a 27k car, my x6 was perfect when i got that!

Don't buy it unless they agree to change it  :)

Plenty of cars around in a good condition, I would get another one. The dealer can get one from anywhere in the network so your deposit is fine.

Changing the seat foam is simple to do, the seat is easy to dismantle...

Personally, if you have found a really good car, but a sloppy seat - just buy the car, hammer the ££££ price for this, and spend a sunday afternoon changing the foam.

Contact a company like CAB Auto in the West Mids that makes car seat foam and any High density drivers seat base foam cushion can be chopped up to do the job.. they will probably have a scrap foam you can go collect that will do the job - I did... works great, saved me £hundreds instead of replacing the seat.
