Does any know if it's there is any way to update the x5 key interms of styling? I know it's a very minor thing but I really don't like the standard key. I love the idea of the flick key or even spending a few pounds and going keyless. Has anyone done this or does anyone know of anyone who can?  :-[

So whats the bit in the ad all about when they say you have to have a separate chip?

Was wondering about that too.

It does also say just swap the internals over which would include the chip wouldn't it.

So the internals (the circuit board) from the older key fit directly into the newer key ? I'm surprised at that.
Both my keys need replacing so I will do this if its easy DIY.

And of course the other question is:  how well will it charge off the induction system in the ignition switch?
