Drivers Power Window

Post by bobgolden » Thu Aug 21, 2014 7:49 pm

Chaps,

Another request for assistance I'm afraid. I noticed today that my driver side window doesn't close as a one touch operation on the button. All of the passenger windows close fully when the button is pulled up from either the driver door or their respective door buttons. Both the printed manual and onboard versions are suitably ambiguous on this so could you please let me know how yours work.

Thanks.

Have you tried holding the button in the 'up' position for about 5 seconds after it gets to the top?  It may need 'programming' to make it do it, and that's what works on our E46 and E71.  I had to redo it for the E46 a few days back as the battery had been off.

It's one touch on mine. The exception was when the doors are open in which case you have to hold the button. I've since programmed it so it's one touch for the front windows even with the doors open.

Ah, Eaglescrest - that may be the top answer !  I have limited room for a fat lad to get out of the car in the garage and frequently have to reposition.  Sometimes I don't shut the door properly as I found out when it slammed on the parking brake automatically the other day having assumed the car was rolling away ( too damned clever)..

I went back to the car the next morning and all was well so I assumed it was a case of the car having gone to sleep and reset the module (I am an ex-Landrover man after all). Your explanation makes much more sense
