You are not alone I just spent six hours putting the gearbox back in my X, so I also can't be at the Bristol meeting,

Guys, just wanted to say many thanks for making a newbie most welcome It also confirmed in my mind that I prefer your shape X5s than the newer ones. Search is on for a 4.6is

I'm not new to forums or meets but it was extremely nice to meet like minded people. My main aim was to catch up with my old mucker AW8. Objective achieved although I was expecting him to be in the most fetching of boiler suits

I bought my camera, but took no pictures . Maybe next time

Penny, when I get a chance, I'll post some proper pics of my cars, mobile pics can be rubbish.

Well managed to get home with car in one piece ( no need to top up & only lost 0.5 litre of coolant on way back)

Arrived Saturday with coolant leaking, (not prior detected), & nearside front indicator having just packed up en route.

X555's 1st sight of me was my angered arrival, getting out of my car & attacking it under a cloud of my self generated blue air

So good to meet all members that made it along :

I think I managed to pace myself with beverages........even if my 2nd drink seemed to have a little more impact than I had expected

Great to put faces to names & genuinely enjoyed myself Particularly good to catch up with names & voices well known but not face to face. Having spent lots of time speaking to Sanj on phone before meet it really good to meet face to face for 1st time

Then yet more surprise, with arrival of our mystery surprise guest AnilS. , Nearly 8 years known but seen in person again for 1st time.........Thanks for making the effort to attend

Great catching up with everyone............& without listing names I mean everyone

Big Thanks to Jason & Co for everything done & helping me nurse my sick car

Last but by no means least I offer my sincere appreciation & big thanks to our likeable & superb host 5hep

Genuinely felt very welcome & enjoyed company of all.......For me to say that is a bit of a rarity , especially as I tounge in cheek regard myself as social dysfunctional through choice

My car let me down a little, (though in fairness it gently got me home), but others more than made up for this


Oh & btw........I apologise for my scary breakfast waitress routine......I only do this on a Sunday of course
