Took 6 pages as it took Jigs that long to finally decide what he wanted to do then for him and Sanj to plan it. There was the whole system lifecycle to go through you know...

So on a more useful update hids-direct got back to me (great service), he asked when the pic was taken how long after startup because he mentions it can 5 minutes before the true colour is reached, and to be fair the picture managed to show far more blue then the eye could see, it was only when I compared pics that I got the idea the colour temp was wrong. Anyway they assured me it was 5000k as he had to tell the warehouse to change the bulb as it was not a standard option on the set at that time, however he said they are still happy to exchange if I am not happy with them.

I think I'll keep them or opt for 4300, need to warm them up and see later today.
Massive difference as expected.

Hole is drilled off centre due to the plastic flap you can see as you want the rubber grommet to sit flush against the cap.
I guess you do but I drilled mine dead centre, chopped a bit of the ridge away slightly wider than the grommet. I ask myself why I made such a fuss of whitling, dremelling, drilling after seeing it done the offset way :D

Anyways....the result looks worth it, razor sharp cut off too.

When I fitted mine it was the same sort of thing....wow I have lights now :D Mine are aslo pin sharp but now that the beam and edge is so much more noticeable the beam paths seem to not be as parrallel as I thought. The bulbs passed the mot but I can't help feeling they'renot set quite right. Mabe they were always that way, maybe fitting hids (pehaps not seated 100%) is causing it.

Crossroads couldn't compete with this soap opera....but it's kept me on the edge waiting for the cliffhanger 8-)

BRILLIANT...literally

ps...Did HIDS Direct throw in split bulb clips. They did for me but they were as thin and weak as tissue paper

They were supposed to but not in the packaging. In fairness they were prepared to send some out but we wanted (I) wanted to get the parasite off my drive!

Dremel is my favourite friend!

Regards the bulbs, have the white porcelin thin tube sitting at the TOP! Checked both cars and that is the correct way for the light to come through (looks like a 'U' shape rather than an 'n') on the lens.

So I am yet to get them aligned at the MOT centre but hopefully Friday, although they clipped in with a really good bite so hopefully will align properly but yes I do get the fact that Ivan see te borders of the lines now, great.
