kkodal, what wheels did you buy? What car were they used for before buying them, if you got them second hand?

here are the pics of the wheels... i bought these back in june and the advert was saying these were for X5. i did not think of trying them back then but the lugs match it just doesn't sit all the way to the rotor like the oem one does. :(
Are the stud holes in the wrong place (pcd should be 5x120) or is the centre bore the wrong size (should be 72.5) ?
the center bore is to tight to fit.

They can be a bit tight sometimes, make sure there`s no spiggot rings left inside the wheels or on the hub, clean both surfaces up and just tighten the bolts to pull it on (make sure the bolts aren`t cross threaded before you do this).

kkodal, I also found out to my cost that the E70 has a different hub size to every other BMW! I bought a set of 19" X6 wheels of ebay for winter tyres(they were advertised as fitting the X5), but found out that the hub size was wrong. The E70 needs a 74.1mm diameter bore (X6/E53 is 72.5mm).
I sent my wheels off to spit and polish (kent) and for £10/wheel they re-bored.

i will try to clean them first to see if it makes a different if not i might have to go the same route to get them re-bored. can you give me the info on the company who can do the re-bore job in case i need it?

Ignore my last post, I didn't realise you had an E70!

The E70 has a larger centre bore, without machining the centres of the wheels they won't fit unless you use some special adapter spacers (and the offsets might not allow for them)

The E39 also used the bigger 74.1mm centre bore.

finally got round to ordering the 18's from the tyremen with Wntrac 4 tyres - slightly spurned on by the weather conditions in NY at the mo...we always end up with the back end of what they have!

When do people start to fit them to their trucks?

Currently 18 in London.
I reckon mid-Nov for me although if I was living in my place in Scotland it would be now.
