I brought a rebuild kit from the well known auction site 3 years ago it included pistons and seals, the bores I polished to make sure there were no
marks or ridges. Rebuilt and all good ever since cost was about £40 from memory.

I've just bought the rebuild kit for the front calipers from Big Red and a pair of new hoses so it looks like I'm doing that job in the near near future..
I totally forgot about rear differential oil that I ordered weeks ago too which showed up yesterday.

Ok. So I managed to get back to Tyre City today to get it on the hunter machine.
It turns out that my string alignment wasn't far off. The rear wheels were bang on - including camber.
The front toe was out a bit so that was altered. The only issue was with the camber on the n/S front wheel which is 0.5° too negative. According to the machine it has to be adjusted at the top of the strut with a special tool.. (?) which they don't do / have.
Ill take a look at that myself later.

Yes that's the same as what was on their computer screen. There must be another way to jack the top plate across a fraction without that tool. Maybe I can lever it somehow. I'll take a look later to keep me off the San Miguel..

Well look at this.. I saw a rear light set listed on fleece bay at £94. Yes £94 - brand new. Not original bmw but I wasn't bothered so I snapped them up.
Just fitted them and they look really good and all working OK. They came complete with bulbs ect.
Top picture is after fitting.. Wrl chuffed.

I’m sure a man of your talents could make a tool to push the strut top in/out

I could if I had access to a machine shop.. I did try to lever it but it wasn't jacked up at the time so the weight of the car was against me. Maybe another day I'll have a go.

I happened to stop by Barons BMW Cambridge today to see what became of a few little bits I ordered just prior to house arrest.
Low and behold they were there and no one had bothered to post it. Anyway, New grommets in the running board. The clips I didn't need in the end.
