Increased battery discharge
Re: Increased battery discharge
Anyone got a list of what each fuse number are?
Relucant to start checking as read other threads saying they then had issues after pulling fuses out to check

Re: Increased battery discharge
132 covers comfort access (door with key symbol) and the TV system (rectangle) going from the icons.

Re: Increased battery discharge
There's another fuse board in the front passenger footwell looking upwards to the dashboard.

What's the tv system?
I have a rear dvd monitor in mine
The symbol with the door and key, what are all the other fuses for? Individual doors etc.?

Re: Increased battery discharge
Could be a rear DVD symbol then. The other fuses are for all the circuits connected with the Comfort Access system. So to kill it you need to pull all of them.....checking what other systems are on the same circuits. The symbology tells you what each fuse connects to, or looking at it another way, the symbol tells you what fuses are associated with each function.
If you aren't comfortable with car electrics then you need either a friend locally who is, or take it to a specialist as doing the wrong thing could fritz a module accidentally.
Before pulling any fuses get a check for parasitic current draws done. Search on here for how to do it. You need the right type of multimeter and time.....a lot of it with some patience unfortunately. Chasing down electrical issues can be a long slow and occasionally frustrating game.

Re: Increased battery discharge
Thanks
Actually pulled 132 fuse to check before reading your posts
132 has stopped all handles not to work under comfort access ie can't lock or lock on any of the handles

Re: Increased battery discharge
Gave the battery a short charge last night for 4-5 hours only
Even in that time the ctek led went from 3 to 4
Fuse 132 still out
Going to see over time if the increased battery discharge comes back or clocks resetting

What do you mean your battery gets killed?
Is this the car or key battery?
Have you had a new battery recently, type, was it coded etc.?

Re: Increased battery discharge
I mean my car battery will go flat when i am out for the day at motocross. It is fine all over times but when i am there i use my boot and doors a few times throughout the day. End of day battery is flat and all clocks etc reset.
Battery isnt new but about 2 years old.

Reading from replies I gather that opening and closing doors can wake the system and electrics up and they don't switch off straight away after locking
But I would imagine a good battery should still let people go in and out of a car without battery going flat?
Sounds like another electrical gremlin of sort too

Re: Increased battery discharge
Every time you operate the key it wakes the car up and modules turn on. Do it a few times and you have a dead battery. It's not a gremlin.
To give you an indication of these power hungry beasts, when I checked mine it draws just over 60A (so that's 60Ah) doing nothing but with the electrics awake. With a 15-20 'sleep' cycle you can see that with a 100Ah battery it will get flattened within about 1.4 hours at full load, so every time you wake it up that is another 20 minutes 'on load' before it sleeps again. The car goes into a self protect mode after only a few cycles. If I want to listen to the radio with the engine off I get little more than 20 minutes before the warnings come on. The electrical load is huge, hence the massive battery.
If I am working on the car and need the electrics - loading the new Satnav database for example takes about an hour - then I have a 10Ah charger running in 'supply' mode to make sure I can still start the engine!
