Whilst I'm sure Matt's family and friends have more pressing issues to deal with at the moment.
It might be worth the sobering thought that HMRC may be interested in BMWLand as part of Matt's estate and as such it could probably be best that it stays off-line (at the moment) to show it has no ongoing value...

I cant comment on the interests of HMRC (and I wouldn't want to) and I realise Mats family and friends have more pressing issues to look at, I'd just hate to see the community drift apart is all fella.

Very sad news indeed. Very much liked the friendly community feel of BMWLand - far different from here.
Value for the purposes of HMRC should be very little - Value in the amount of fantastic and broad ranging information, problems and fixes etc. you couldn't put a price on.
Turks.

I'm wondering if us at Cotswold BMW should be looking for a new forum to sponsor?
[/quote]
Or perhaps first of all try and find out in more detail what the situation is with BMWLand (if you haven't done so already) and what you can possibly positively do.
It would seem a great shame if, because of lack of help from sponsors, it couldn't continue.

Cotswolds are already wondering if they should go somewhere else, they know as much as we do. It's frustrating (notwithstanding the reasons why) as I've sold my E91 and just ordered an F31 and I was doing a fair amount of googling to get an idea of ownership experiences, etc. A lot of the time I was getting hits for BMWLand and of course you can't get in there. As well as the social aspect there's a huge amount of experience on that site, be an absolute shame to lose all of that.

I wasn't a prolific bmwland poster, but always turned to you guys for advice with my cars. Got a bargain set of wheels there too. Nice to see some familiar names around here.
Very sad news about Matt, must be heartbreaking for his family.
Hope we find a new home soon.

Don't quite know how I found this site but glad I did and happy to see some faces from the Land albeit in very sad circumstances.
Wishing to pass on my condolences to Matt's family at this most sad time.

I've contacted 2 other forums already.
I believe Xdrivers already has a link to the Gloucester branch?

missing it. Seeing as some are here - any general advice on what to look out for with E92 M3's? What are the differences between the standard M3's and the competition pack ones?

Me too
e90post is ok, but it's not in the same league as BMWLand, not as friendly for starters.
Have you tried the M3 subforums on there Ninjagirl?

There is still some activity at BMWLand, I have just received a reminder that my site supporter subscription is due. It may have been sent automatically, because the site is still down.

Still (wishfully?) hoping it will be re activated. I'm checking the site regularly, but so far no signs of that yet.
Just like other Landers, missing it. :-[
