Thats correct the app doesnt currently have any functionality to close tailgate using remote button (confirmed by Parvis).

I'm assuming you do have power tailgate as an option otherwise it not going to work.
I must admit the Carly Bmw app is a very user friendly software which allows anyone to code certain options far more quickly than INPA & Nscxpert!
Regarding the instant fold of the mirrors when locking I've not got it to work on my E70 to my surprised some of you guys have succeeded with this simply App,I'm tempted to get one myself!
Just to confirm the posted Elm327 wifi adapter from fleabay is the "working" item you guys are using?

Just a quick update. I went ahead and downloaded the Carly app from Google play and ordered the dongle from them. All working fine and a very handy thing to have.

I've just ordered two adapters; one for the X5 and another for the Mini JCW we've just bought. I hope it's worth it...

I, Just found this app/thread.
A few posts ago it was mentioned about dpf regen status.
Has this been included now.?

After updating the app last week I can now see parameter options for displaying things like distance since last regen, grams of particulate in the DPF, diesel used since last regen etc on my E70 40d.
However, the extra cost-option to actually be able to force a regen says that it is not yet available for the E70, and it looks like it will be an extra 10 Euro if and when they add it to the available functions.
Cheers,
AJP

Is there another thread on using this? My adapters arrived and I decided to buy the full version of the Carly app. A few fault codes are showing but I'm not sure how to decipher them further? Should I clear them all and see whether any return/persist? Also is the dpf regeneration something I should be considering? (Mines a 2004 E53 3.0D). It seems I can't reset services (not that I have any need to) but coding seems to work, not that I've changed anything yet. I haven't tried it with our Mini yet.

E53 didn't have DPF they didn't fit the DPF to X5's until the E70 in 2007

try googling the fault codes
Was thinking of buying the dongle and full app for the 3 series . What's the price of them both.
Fancy coding the mirrors to auto fold and the roof to close on the fob as well.

I bought the USB package at 28.90 Euros and the Bluetooth Adapter at 21.90 Euros though I just realised a new bluetooth adapter is in testing (though I'm not sure whether this matters for the cars I'm going to be using it with). There's 19% tax on top and 8.90 Euros shipping. The app was £38.53.
I have tried googling and got a bit better description of one but wondered whether there was a searchable database or such like.
I didn't think mine had a DPF but certain readings and functions and readings came up which made me wonder.
I suspect the codes that came up are not of any concern. Presumably resetting would the thing to do then check again after a short while?

Thanks for the info.
I bought a cheap wireless OBD adapter from EBay £7 .95 and the free app, it communicated but said coding needed the what app gen 2 adapter at 58 euros so sent back the cheap adapter. I need someone close to buy one with to share the cost, so it's well worth having to share the use,
I had the scanner 1.4.0 for the E53' but gave it away when I parted with the X5
I kept the HIDS and LED marker lights when I PX the E53. Typical they don't fit the 3 series so got some 80w front markers for the E93. It's got bi Xenon headlights too. So no need for the HIDS
