Good for you. And as said, that's the least BMW should have done. I only let them get away with mine because the car was driveable and the dealer Gerry rigged the bonnet catch so I could refill the washer bottle and check the fluids/oil etc - I use the dipstick not the iDrive! Not everyone knows the E70/71 have dipsticks.
