Hi all, very sad news about Matt and about BMWLand.

Hopefully the host co will appreciate the situation and allow the database to be dumped out somewhere.

I can always host from my datacenter if it means the Land can continue. :)

Have already expressed my sympathy and do really hope there will be a continuation of BMWLand.

I have posted a BMW question here on the general forum, but no replies yet...

People.

Bmw land holding / home page has been updated.
(Not sure by who)
Information

The forum is currently offline while the database is undergoing maintenance. The reason for the prolonged outage is, I am very sad to report, that Matt, the owner/admin, has unfortunately lost his fight against serious illness. Please be patient.

If there's one thing I regret its not buying a bmwland sticker for my car...

Really sorry to hear this very sad news, my condolences go out to the family. We had a sudden death just before new year and it rips your heart out.

I look on here and BMW Land all the time, BMW land has given me hours of great reading (Spuff!) and lots of helpful info and advice.

Hope the site is back online soon, I'm sure that's what Matt would of wanted.

Whilst I'm sure Matt's family and friends have more pressing issues to deal with at the moment.

It might be worth the sobering thought that HMRC may be interested in BMWLand as part of Matt's estate and as such it could probably be best that it stays off-line (at the moment) to show it has no ongoing value...

I'm wondering if us at Cotswold BMW should be looking for a new forum to sponsor?
