Some advice pls from the current owners. For the home chargers, I presume I need the 32amp type 1 tethered socket?

What other leads will I need if I'm to do any fast charging as I will need to do some when I pick up mine from west London for the travelling back to bristol.

Depends if you trying to future proof, I think its better not to get teethered and get a type 2 then purchase a type 2 to type 1 cable (aka public charging cable) https://evconnectors.com/ev-plug-nissan-leaf-cable this you will make use of anyway when out and about if a Rapid charger is not available.

You will need a 32amp charger if you have the 6.6kw charger fitted to your car, otherwise a 16amp charger will do.  The chargers can be supplied with either a tethered lead, or without.  Most prefer the tethered option as this saves time and hassle when connecting or disconnecting as you don't have to bother gathering up the lead and putting in the boot.  I am having a 32kw unit fitted even though I don't have the 6.6 kW charger in the car.  This is to future proof the charger as I think the next generation of cars will probably have the 6.6kw fitted as standard.

As for your trip to Bristol.  There are two types of chargers, one being a Fast Charger that takes between 4-8 hours to charge depending whether or not you have the 3.3kw or 6.6kw charger.  You need a type one to type two cable that's available from around £160. The other is the Rapid Charger that takes 30-40 minutes to give you around 80% charge.  Once at 80% the charging rate drops off dramatically to protect the batteries.  The Rapid Charger is tethered so therefore you don't need a cable for this one.

If I was you, I would plan to do the trip on Rapid Charges but work on around 40 miles between top ups incase there are any problems with the Rapid Charger on arrival.  I would also purchase the type one to type two cable so you have an option.
