Picking up my Leaf tomorrow, and sad as it may be, I'm quite looking forward to it, been a long while since I owned an ugly car ::)
So I know the chances of getting any serious answers are slim, but here goes anyway (besides some of the questions are stupid anyway):
1 - The charging cable, I assume there no issues if I just leave it outside regardless of weather condition?
2 - Any ideas in current temp what a safe number to assume (miles)
3 - Is the miles on the dash accurate, or does it jump around? When it gives miles reading is it assuming constantly moving, so what if it says 20 miles and I am stuck in traffic, will it still do 20 miles?
4 - If battery runs out, what to do?
5 - Whats the iOS app for the pre-heat and range etc, anything special to get it all connected?
6 - Type 2 to Type 1 cable anyone found anything better then £150?
7 - Using the cable in public places, I take it theft of the cable is always there?
8 - Using the public charge points, seems you need a card, anyone know any details, seems there are different suppliers.
9 - Sometimes I have to jump start my X5, is this even possible, or will something blow up?
Anything else newbies should know, or should ask at collection time?
PS - I have little expectation of getting sane answers, but I can't post on leaftalk for some reason.

They probably don't think much of you either, I would wager!
You want to talk Leaf, then jog on to Leaftalk sweetheart

Or you could go to ilovepussy.com , you'll probably find PVR there anyway.

So I know the chances of getting any serious answers are slim, but here goes anyway (besides some of the questions are stupid anyway):
1 - The charging cable, I assume there no issues if I just leave it outside regardless of weather condition? What cable? BG one? I wasn't told any different
2 - Any ideas in current temp what a safe number to assume (miles) 70
3 - Is the miles on the dash accurate, or does it jump around? When it gives miles reading is it assuming constantly moving, so what if it says 20 miles and I am stuck in traffic, will it still do 20 miles? It is calculated based on way you drive it like the MPG ones in a normal car. Ease up and the rate it goes down eases up too
4 - If battery runs out, what to do? Phone nissan. They pick you up
5 - Whats the iOS app for the pre-heat and range etc, anything special to get it all connected? Yes to pre warm the car in the morning if nothing else. Completely defrosts it
6 - Type 2 to Type 1 cable anyone found anything better then £150? No, not bothering
7 - Using the cable in public places, I take it theft of the cable is always there? It locks in.
8 - Using the public charge points, seems you need a card, anyone know any details, seems there are different suppliers. Get one of each
9 - Sometimes I have to jump start my X5, is this even possible, or will something blow up? Jump start what exactly. There is nothing to jump start!!
Anything else newbies should know, or should ask at collection time? I didn't get a handover and I've worked it for myself. !!

You do know it's an ELECTRIC car right? That means a very big Lithium Battery under your backside. No V8, just a washing machine motor. If it won't go then recharge it, or buy a very very very long mains cable.......or get a petrol/diesel car instead. And no a 12v jump pack won't help as the battery voltage in the Leaf is a lot higher.
