I'm happy to have a quick look, but no guarantees!
To take an iBus log you need to connect up to a PC as you did when updating the firmware.
Select the logging option from the menu, then type the command "ibusd on" (no quotes, followed by return). You should see iBus messages start to be displayed. You then need to drive a short distance so that a message that contains the speed that is incorrectly displayed is captured, literally a few yards should be enough, but if you can manage to get to, say, 20 mph that would be good.
When done, type the command "ibusd off" (ignore what's displayed, it's the keystrokes that are important, so iBus messages may be displayed between characters) and then stop logging from the downloader program menu. You should be able to attach the file directly to a message in this thread, probably best to ZIP it up to make it as small as possible.

Thanks!
Will do, may take a while. (probably one of the next weekends, I will post the Result here then.)
I don't need to switch to the specific screen where the speed is shown, during the short drive, while the laptop with the application is connected?

No, the iBus message for speed is sent a regular intervals from the cluster, so long as you are logging the iBus messages that's all that matters. It will reduce the size of the log if you are not actually using the Intravee source at all.

Hi Richard,
I got something, hopefully its enough (just went ~50m)
The Journal of the Log "Trip" (real Speed was like ~20 to 25 km/h
And the max I found in the Journals (the E46 is quite a nice and still somewwhat fast car even by todays standards, but more than 300 km/h at 3200 revs/min is a bit too optimistic
BTW: nearly cut my finger off during removal of the side trim to get access to the Intravee even I knew how it is done best because of the recent update...
Greetings.

OK, so these are the speed and RPM numbers I see in that log, do they look about right?
IBUS: 00:03:20.13 80 05 BF 18 00 09 2B [2B] -> 0 kph, 900 rpm
IBUS: 00:03:22.13 80 05 BF 18 00 0A 28 [28] -> 0 kph, 1000 rpm
IBUS: 00:03:23.45 80 05 BF 18 02 0C 2C [2C] -> 4 kph, 1200 rpm
IBUS: 00:03:25.44 80 05 BF 18 07 18 3D [3D] -> 14 kph, 2400 rpm
IBUS: 00:03:27.44 80 05 BF 18 10 2A 18 [18] -> 32 kph, 4200 rpm
IBUS: 00:03:29.44 80 05 BF 18 07 0A 2F [2F] -> 14 kph, 1000 rpm
IBUS: 00:03:31.44 80 05 BF 18 00 09 2B [2B] -> 0 kph, 900 rpm
If they are, that means something odd is happening when displaying or saving/retrieving the numbers from the Journal entry. As these look reasonable and do not match the Max and Avg numbers you're Journal shows it is reasonable to assume that it's not the speed being read from the iBus message that's the issue here.
There are a couple of possibilities, but I suspect that the most likely is the 'Speed Correction' value. It's possible that this has managed to get set to a silly value when updating the firmware from an old version that does not support it, to the latest.
Go to the 'Extras' menu option, then 'Extras Settings' and see what 'Speed Correction' is set to. It's specified as a percentage, if you go to change the value, it won't let you enter more than +/- 25%. but until you change it the current value should be shown.

Yes, the values seem reasonable. 32kph maybe a tiny bit high, but within the margin. (much better than the shown 105 kph)
I remember the correction factor setting - with it I wanted to correct the value, but dont recall if I finally set it (because the limits were too small to correct this much. Maybe I just left it like it was.
Will try to set it and report back.
Thanks a lot for having a look!

Success!
I did in fact set the correction factor to -25% (the maximum) and left it there.
As we saw, still too high values were shown - now I reset to 0% and it shows the correct speed now.
What ever the issue was - it is gone now.
Problem solved, "customer" happy.
Thanks again for your help and all the effort even after the passing of the inventor / creator of the Intravee.
Best regards.
P.S.: Maybe the Dropbox link can be pinned somehow? (it was the reason I found this threead and was able to update to the latest available Version with Extras. or perhaps just repost it, to have it available again at the end of this thread for reference.
