I remember reading somewhere that the Americans expect 50k plus out of their tyres (tires). This explains why they are shitie in the wet.  Not sure if the Canadians expect similar wear and tear.

Can't remember what my navigator had on it but they were like truck tyres

Didn't do enough mile in it (hence I sold it) to establish the wear but now I think about it they looked durable plus it was not the sort of thing you would chuck around, because you couldn't!!!

Going  :offtopic: here, but was telling a friend about the Ford Excursion yesterday. I don't think he could comprehend just how big it was!  The Navigators not exactly small either!

The navigator is based on the ford expedition with some 'posh' badges and more bling!!!

I had a town car once, it was awful an of course is the same as the police interceptor and cabs!!!

It hasn't got the extra row of seats just the standard 5 seats. So it appears the rear of these seats doesn't lay completly flat then.

As far as tyres go, yes it's only done 11900 miles (the accurate figure) and when I viewed all the tyres looked pretty good still. The fronts seemed lower tread wise but still acceptable and even wear, the salesman mentioned that two were being swapped for new and then later said all four would be replaced.
No kerbing or side wall damage that I could see, I just assumed they came close or below the 4mm BMW AUC limit?

Wasn't going to argue with them  :)

Well, she arrives in the morning. Being delivered from dealership, 160 odd miles, hope everything is OK, really looking forward to getting it now  :)
Bank account has taken a hammering but I think it's going to be worth it.

Got it  :P been finding excuses all day to drive it and so far I'm loving it !

Couple of quick questions, is it normal for the DAB radio to cut out and lose signal? It does this a fair bit when driving in more built up areas.
Also I'm getting the previous owners voice commands coming back at me when I try the voice control on phone, will 'delete all' as per the handbook wipe this clean?

Finally (for now..lol) there appears to be info relating to 'Trackstar' a tracker type unit, I have no details off the dealer and he didn't say one was fitted but I have user guides etc. Did the X5 come standard with a tracker ?

Loving the drive, power is awesome for such a big car, handling too is superb. Even my errors with the auto gearbox controls are explained in the centre display (not had an auto before).....amazing machine  :)
