Not the centre console, ashtray lid or rear cup holder cover he can't - not in 3 hours. But every other piece pops off and should have been covered by taking it off. Saves him time...

Is that the fishnet stocking metal stuff? My mate used that stuff. Looks fine from a distance of photos but have to say I'm not keen on the look up close.

Either way adds to the effect.

Would £250 be a fair price to get all the paint chips taken care of and get all the dings on the body of the X5 plus a machine polish the car?
There is a company near me offered to do all that for £250. They also said they could do the VW as well for £250.
What do you guys think?

It sounds like a good deal at that figure, almost too cheap if the workmanship is up to standard.  A good exterior polish by a pro detailer could well cost that much on its own.. :)

all depends what they have on, i had 90% of the x5 painted for £600 cash, all but roof, its not absoulely 100% perfect but its far better than the original bmw job (there quite bad bmw paint jobs even on my mates 12 reg) just give it a go for that price, get one done then if its good get the other car done!! :)

He was highly recommended by quite a few people and business i know around here. I've been meaning to give him a call but never had the time and tonight when i drove back from London i saw him working on my neighbour's 60 plate 335i coupe so i asked him to take a look  at my vehicles and give me a quote. After carefull inspection ge asked for £550 for both and i offered him £500 for both. He'll also take on cleaning the wheels. I said i would give him a call on monday to arrange a date. He is also mobile so that's another plus i guess.
We'll se how they will come out
