The video really rubs it in! Damn the money I spent on the oem stuff!!

Has anyone fitted this on top of an oem sat nav+cd changer setup, no dsp?

To be honest you could probably remove all that BMW kit and sell it for two or three times the price of these units. For some reason people still pay silly money for the genuine kit, even though it's 10 years out of date!

Someone on the e46zone paid £2000 on eBay for a fully fitted factory nav 6 months ago! The eBay auction is still live now and people are still buying it! I have no idea why. When I took my e46 to trade in I was told numerous times it makes no difference to the value whether you have nav or not, and when I sold my car on eBay it sold for about the same as identical cars without Nav! Even the genuine Nav DVDs from BMW cost a fortune!

I'd whip it all out, sell it, buy a Hualingan and pocket some nice change! :)

I am confused!

In the link above they say they are the only shop that sell the Hualigan with legal maps etc etc etc - so what have you bought N1k?

I assume they are just trying to scare you into buying from them...or talking about overseas eBay sellers maybe? Car Vision state that they supply the full and legal IGO 8 software. Obviously I can't confirm for sure but it seems unlikely they would be supplying pirate software.

It seems a silly thing to write in an eBay ad to me!, and it's quite a statement to make... How can they possibly tell that they are the "only" company offering the legal maps?! the first rule of business is 'Never slag off your competition' :P

I really hate stuff like this:

TBH even if car-vision and "everyone else" are in fact supplying 'hookie' software, it works great and looks a much better platform that the one shown on that eBay auction! The IGO software is the best Nav system i've used to date, and I've used quite a few! John said updating the maps is really easy when it needs doing.

I wonder what Nav software they come with in that eBay auction? It certainly isn't the same as mine...but doesn't look anywhere near as good from their screenshots. IGO has speed camera locations, shows speed limits and can verbally warn you if you are speeding etc.

I don't mind either way, I have been using non-genuine and modified BMW maps in my last 2 cars before I bought the Hualingan! As long as it works, and works well, I'm happy!

Thanks,

As far as I know the Radio isn't Digital, I have only used it to find Radio1 so far, but I'm pretty sure it's just a standard Radio.

And the box shows loads of logos on it, but none of them say 'DAB' or anything, so i would say its pretty safe to assume NO :)

I'll let you know N1k. Ive got my head unit up for sale along with the MK3 nav computer. Theres a couple of head units on there at the moment for £280 !!! Buy it now. I'll be quite happy if I get that for mine - although I've put it up for auction with a sensible start price.Watch this space ...

Nice install aswell N1k, that sticking out at the bottom milarky would have driven me crazy. Good work fella

No worries, and thanks all for the comments :)

I'm sure you'll be happy with the H/U from iceboxauto and it's Nav, for all I know it could be better than IGO, and I really like their 2 year warranty!

We'll have to compare when you get that bad boy fitted!
