im having problems with my parked heating now - after all my efforts to get if finally working sucessfully from remote and scanner enabled obc timer.
when the car is started on a cold morning the webasto fuel pump can be heard to knock, knock until the car is upto full working temperature. so working properly there.
lately in parked up mode, the webasto has been firing up running for a couple of mins then shutting down.
after a bit of a play with it today ive discovered that the auxilliary remote water pump (located near main radiator expansion tank) is no longer working (no water jet visible at filler cap), thus the webasto is firing up, overheating because of no water circulation, and shutting its self down for safety.( the webasto gets VERY hot to the touch!)
obviously when the engine is running, the main water pump circulates the water through webasto so it works normally then.
im wondering if any generic 12v water pump will do as a replacement as the original part looks expensive!

webasto have their own diagnostic tools it seems..
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Webasto-diagn ... 893wt_1344
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-Webasto-d ... 978wt_1344
tbh they might be just i/k bus tools with the webasto s/w.. which actually only makes it even better!

See my post on previous page, you can you a reslers ibus interface if you have one and get just download the Webastro software.
fenj66, pump doesn't look anything special had mine of to test it, simple 12v to it makes it run. Would think any water pump would do as long as its flow rate is good enough. The specs for the ThermoTop on is
Circulation pump 4847
Flow rate at 0.1 bar 900 l/h
Nominal voltage 12 V
Operating voltage range 10.5 ... 15 V
But the min flow rate allowed is 250l/h
Hope that helps

i know i was just gonna do one last test when the weather improved before goin that route- which i did today, and my webasto feels dead to this world, even after i cleared the glow-plug error with teh scanner. so i've decided to give this a try.
more so cos this is reslers unit is actually a generic i/k bus adopter, which i'm sure can be used for other purposes as well. so fun and games to come,... i hope!
one question before i purchase though: you bought the serial bus version, right? not the usb version. why so?
serial bus version is no more available, has not been for a while now.

Any updates?
Mine now shows a fault on bmw scanner 1.4.0 but isnt really specific. Just says "additional heater"
only gone like this since my battery went flat when i was fitting the intravee, so assume i need to do the webasto reset.

mine was always showing the fault "additional heater", it didnt seam to stop it working though, more of an information message i think,
i still havnt sourced a cheap 12volt additional water pump yet though so mine still not working as a parking heater, but down here we have only had a few frosty mornings this year so far anyway.
