Look, I know this completely random but I need some opinions.
Really would like to adopt a rescue dog- does anyone have any experience of this and what kind of breed would be good around young children. And fit in the X6!

Someone else suggested a Labrador for their gentle natures . I've always wanted a chocolate lab- full of real chocolate  :)

Another vote for a Labrador here we got a 18 month old rescue and he was very welcoming of our Daughter when she was born and they are great around children because of their lovely temperament, our lab is getting a little grumpy now in his old age though!

They are lovely to have around for sure  :)

That's really helpful info chaps thanks. I hate going to look though because I want to adopt them all  :'(
I'd even adopt 535dboy at a pinch but he'd have to stay muzzled.

Hardly think an X5 forum is the place to ask advice on a rescue dog !! Oh, and I want one that fits the car.

Remember, a dog is for life, not just for Christmas  :)

And for the record I've got a Rough Collie, fits the X5 nicely but can be a bit sensitive (like me)

:))

A St bernard should fit nicely then

Yup I was always told you should leave a bit to eat on Boxing Day too.

Sensitive, we don't have room for those type of people on this forum  :P ;)

As per my avatar, I had a Choc Lab, lovely dog - lost him a few years ago no.

Only downside of the Chocolate one is that they are much more difficult to train than the other ones.

Their behaviour is more like 535dboy, i.e. unpredictable  :))

We are getting a new dog as well - this saturday to be precise, English Pointer. "Only" in Devon though, so will be a bit of a track.

Should fit nicely in the X5 to keep it on topic  :)

Just got back from a day with the wee man, and am REALLY pleased to see all the children are playing nicely.. :razz1: :ok:

No dogs here are the four Bengals are enough of a handful, then add our little 'demon' and bringing a dog into the equation would do in what little sanity I have left!  :crazy1: :yikes:

He was a lovely dog although I'm not quite sure why you trained him to keep sniffing my nuts !!!

As you say back on topic, Sue - fancy a shag?
