Yes, put the disc in the drive, scanner into the socket.
Checked for the light on the scanner then connected the USB cable.
Drivers self installed.
Copied the application from the disc to my laptop and ran from there.

I don't own one Stuart, I borrowed the scanner from member mcc05.
He knows his stuff about the scanner. Could be worth dropping him a message.
The green light stayed illuminated when connected via USB, but I cant remember if it did so if not connected to the lappy.

Just received my scanner and run it on my mrs E53 4.4 and found loads of errors, cleared them and the EHC and LCM have shown 2 errors. It came up with No.57 which I think is the level sensors, but how do I know which one to change?

Bought one of these from a well-rated, 3-year seller off eBay - arrived today (unlabelled packaging, unprinted CD, no instructions)
Loaded CD to PC, found and printed off .pdf instructions to install drivers for XP(SP2)
Connected device via supplied cable to PC USB port (port known to be OK via connection of other external devices) - but device not detected by hardware wizard or via manual hardware detect instruction from Control Panel
I presume the device is therefore duff and I'll have to go throgh the pain of returning it - unless any Member who has one can see something that I have done wrong/not done ?
(PS also tried other known good USB cable and alternative USB socket - same result!)

just read your post on the other scanner thread.
the seller came good and sent me a replacement but took two weeks, but all seams ok with it now.
you should have the green light on - on the scanner when connected to the diagnostic port, when the laptop is running the program and reading/writing to the car - the yellow light should flash.
i dont know what to suggest in getting you started with the software - have you tried my first post on this thread? - worked ok for me with xp.
a bit of a nuisance regarding lack of instructions - i guess it doesnt translate from chinese very well!!
trial and error i think you must try.

Thanks fenj66 - I tried to load the driver to my laptop away from the car (i.e. scanner not plugged into vehicle) - I do get the green light if I plug the scanner on its own into the vehicle port - do you know if you have to have the scanner plugged in to the port before the driver can be loaded ?

Can anyone put me out of my misery
I've successfully enabled aux heating and bleeps on lock/unlock a few weeks ago, but for the life of me I can't find the options to enable automatic locking.
I guess I need to access this screen...but where is it?!

Under Automatic Locking you have Locking Condition - have you tried that?
Tick 4 km/h (mine is set to about that - but without this scanner).

Thanks Graham. I've been in that menu but was looking at the reprogramming button and not coding...or the other way around!
Now I've found it, it doesn't seem to have activated, maybe next time I start the car.
Sanj, the picture is of the menu I couldn't get into, I know what to do when I get there...thanks anyway
