Hmm. I've gone to it on my 4S. I do like some of the features but the look (I'm hoping) will grow on me.

The only issue is had so far is on a couple of occasions when the phone is booted up and after losing its charge I get no service and have to reboot it again.

can't agree more - features are good, then again the features could have come on any look and feel. the look and feel - i hope it grows on me!

tbh i knew what was coming - saw an article about the design concept sometime back, its from a brit if i remember; minimalist and 2d was the theme. theory was that 'today's user is well accustomed to the digital age; therefore didn't need for instance a notepad to look like an actual notepad with a spiral, a paper feel, hand written font, etc..'

guess its an age thing as well then :P hopefully it grows on me!

Thought I would update the iPad Sat evening, so dutifully set about backing everything up, deleted some stuff to make room for the update and downloaded it.  Update started...

This was 21:30

22:30 Sunday, it's still got the same bloody screen up.

So taking a chance I force closed it, tried to start it and......

After a few seconds it wizzed through the update progress bar and launched the 'hello' page.

Thank god for that.  Anyone else have that problem?

Yes I agree that the graphics are slower and safari is fiddly but I'm sure things will get sorted over time and we'll get used to it all.  It's only been 6 years since the last UI was introduced, so I'm sure over the next few years all will become good or accepted.

Can't remember what day the IOS update was made available but next morin in at 7am I set it off with no backup and using wifi. Was done in 90 mins tops. Think anytime the US are less likely to be online helps.

Regards Safari, use Mercury instead, much faster browser.

I'm full of crap ideas - this one happens to be a good recommendation! Works better with the shortcuts on an iPad.

How do I change the default browser though. On an iPhone?
