Update....
I had a look at the pano roof for him and have got it working so that he can use the main part but not the rear.
I explained to him the permanent fix so the rear panel is disabled but he wasn't keen on me cutting out the part that was needed to do so.....he nearly had a heart attack when he saw all the switch console and the light hanging down after I had been in the car for five minsĀ
So I closed up the roof manually (which was APITA with his cranked allen key bit missing from his tool set) and he can now slide the front sunroof and blind back and forward so long as he doesn't press the button upwards to vent the panels.
Note to anyone buying an e53 with pano roof.....make sure the cranked allen key is in the tool kit in the boot or you have to take all the trims off to use a normal allen key with pliers!!
