X5sport, chuffed to bits for you
have always loved the X6 since its launch a couple of years ago and would love to have one, maybe one day
I think the eyes you mention are an option but not sure what it's called, extended storage shadow reflex maybe
Parts ordered - slightly annoyed as the manual and publicity materials intimate they should be there, but the one manual now covers every version of the X5 and X6, so it's not always possible to tell. I didn't order with the build as the Dealer and I thought they were included. Never mind.

You have a real beauty there X5 Sport, and I must say I am a little green with envy...
If I manage to sell one of the kids for the right price, I may too be able to afford one, and there would be enough seats for the other two
I have also told SWMBO that should she fall of the perch any time soon the insurance money will be buying a X6 before anything else is sorted - yes I am that shallow
Anyway, thanks for the pics and enjoy your stunning ride

Well after a couple of weeks I can say I'm very impressed so far. BMW have fixed the paint defects and scratch and I've fitted the luggage rails in the boot.
I had a 35d as a loaner which was run in and could therefore be played with. All I can say is
It went like the proverbial rocket! The 40d has even more to pkay with, and another two gears. The 6sp box is not as smooth as the 8sp, as would be expected, but giving the 35d a bootful is very impressive, especially given it weighs 2.2 tonnes! The torque is very very powerful once the turbos spool up.
The only other car we have had with similar performance was SWMBO's Seat Leon Cupra R from 2003 with the 210bp 1.8 20V turbo engine and not much body weight. I think the X6 may even be quicker.
Winter tyres will be fitted this week which might improve grip over the standard tyres and I need to add another 1,000 miles or so to get the basic running in finished - no volunteers please
We might even make a meet if there's one in this direction-ish.

It was under spotlights etc but I assume it was your colour yes, although it could have been a smidge darker
Also had the M3 GTS there which looked good, if you ignore the price!
Re tickets BMW don't care about you now as you have your new car. They know that I never keep cars this long so must be changing soon. Lots of drivers there and Lewis dad

They do nothing for keeping the running boards clean though!!!

Tell me about it, after my 24 hour polish/wax marathon the car was ridiculously shiny and the water just shed off and stopped on the running boards, they look terrible now, I might look into getting them anodised grey or somtheing to hide the dirt, or at least get a better way of cleaning thm.
