Great news.. 10p worth of aluminium tape did the job, Just done a trip to the city, not one rattle anywhere in the car! Absolutely delighted I've done a visual on the rest of the cassette and cant see any other sign of wear or damage! Yipeeeee!

To X Box: Although I've been driving BMW's for years now, (E32, E38, E34, E39 and now E53) But this is the first time I've joined a car forum. Came across this forum when I was looking for common "issues" with the X5, while I was shopping for mine, and liked the general atmosphere here, so figured why not give it a try

Well I hope you enjoy enough to stay around. The reason I asked was there were a lot of 530d e39's around when I was on BMW5.

I've used various forums for about 13 or 14 years now. My X5 is BMW number 8!
