Only on a dual carriageway/motorway - otherwise it's 50mph.... :P

Is that 2 for the non-caravanners then.?..... :stir:

Slightly off-topic, but we've just booked a holiday involving a long-haul flight, and the Air Passenger Duty for the two of us is £900! That was an unpleasant and unwanted shock. I knew the Gov't had put it up, but ouch... :x

Ha ha very nice reply caravaners 1 airports 0
hold it just there my friend, caravaners have to drive below 60mph, whereas others go at... speeds that cannot be discussed in a public forum ;)

caravaners 1, 'non caravaners' (not airports) 5
I presume you mean 70 mph of course!!!

Us caravaners may have to go a bit slower, but that just gives us a bit more time to relax and enjoy the many comforts of our X5's.
We also don't have to worry about the 'stealth tax' money boxes at the side of the road fining us for going 4mph over the speed limit, and if we want to stop for brew we can have one in the comfort of our own mobile front room instead of being ripped off in some grotty over priced services.

Ithink I've lost track of the scores now but I'm sure us 'vaners are winning. :D

Just checked on a towcar site and my 4.8 should be ok for a 0 to 62 with a caravan on the back in just over 9 secs.

So that will be quicker than your Taxi to the airport and the bus to the hotel

Caravans +1

Well, Just back after our first tow with the X5.

Wow and Wow again   I can not belive how smooth it is in traffic when towing and hils they dont really make any diffrance. The best bit is from 30 to 60 MPH it pulls so hard that I would say it is far quicker tham my 2.0 TDI Passat solo.

We left Durham and went to Whitby and back some of the journey the A19 and the rest over the moors with a few hills. So a good mix and the X5 did 17.2 MPG not trying too hard. I would guess It will do an easy 18 on a longer flat run.
Not bad for a 4.8 V8 Dragging 1650 KGS or brick behind it.,
