imo not really worth repairing those.. btw i'm still wonderin whether the underside needs cleanin.. ;) too expensive and low down the list right now :tumbleweed:

The expense bit was bothering me too. The unit is worth nowt being 17 years old, and although spares are available, they aren't cheap.. Looks like nearly £100 for the housing and valvegear and I'd rather put that toward a replacement. If you don't keep your cars for any length of time then worrying about the underside is rightly lower down the list, but it might help save corroded brake lines etc which have been affecting some folks, and is higher up the list for those like me who tend to hang on to their cars. It's likely now that I'll keep mine fore 6-7 years, maybe more (reliability & costs permitting).
