Tried it today and it's all working okay really really chuffed with this!

Checked the header tank and sure enough there is a jet of water recirculating into the tank.

Also, my parking sensor turned up yesterday, ordered from the same link as garioch had posted. Seems all good, just need to get the bumper off in the next few weeks and get it changed over.

Next job is sorting the auto folding mirror that doesn't want to stay folded in! Always seems to be something to do with these cars!

Yeah seen that thread, went out today and tried to get the cover off the mirror but bottled it in the end as I thought it was gona crack. Gona give it a shot again tomorrow.

You'll inevitably snap one or two catches but all part of the process!

Ordered a couple of days after christmas and it turned up yesterday.

Next for me is trying to get this parking heater enabled and replacing my faulty parking sensor oh and a service....

guys! scanner 1.4.0 has arrived! from never never land! heres what i bought:

scanner, cable and a micro cd! so how do i get this installed? no instructions! put the cd in the drive, do not connect the device or cable yet, install the sw first i guess?

Yup install the software then your good to go!

driver installation pdf says to connect the scanner to the computer with the usb cable, and then the comp is supposed to prompt for installation of new hardware.

i've tried on 2 computers (mrs's as well), but when i connect the scanner to the computer it just doesn't prompt anything. nothing at all happens!

any help?

both computers run windows xp, sp3.

Do these scanners pinpoint which PDC sensor is faulting or just a generic PDC fault?

after replacing one of mine which was not quite as loud as the others was all fine.....a few months on I get a solid tone fail on the front but can hear them all clicking. Given that PDCs aint cheap I'd like to target the right one when the bumper is off

Mine reports front left converter, and my front left passenger sensor is dead, I've disabled the front sensors for now with bmw scanner 1.4.0 until the weather is warmer and I get out to swap it

does it show up in device manager? If I remember correctly I thought mine was duff coz it was asking to be installed when I tried running the software. Try plugging it into your car and running the software

I didn't load the software that way.

I just browsed on the disc found the program and then installed it straight onto my desktop.

front left passenger sensor....that I can understand
front left converter...what's one of them

For the ails of PDC this kit seems worth its weight in phillips screws and bumpers coming on and off repeatedly if you can accurately target the correct duff PDC

thanks for your previous suggestion, just been playing with it - it worked actually (plug the unit to the car, then connect the usb to the comp, and the hardware detection came up and i installed the driver!)

i got the s/w going! interesting lots of info! await next posts as i try to do things with my new found toy
