Thanks Chompers.
My previous motor was a 120d M sport coupe. I love the 20d engine.

Same here - loving the teaser shots!
I really liked the coupe. The performance was excellent, economy brilliant, and it was a fun car to drive. Only changed as wanted something a bit more practical for work (and better in bad weather) as was driving quite a bit. Since ordering the X1, I now have a new job where I'm based at home again! So in reality, didn't really need to swap!
Other than the week in the X5, I went to the 1er coupe from a Z4MC and surprisingly enjoyed the car just as much as the Z.

Interesting you enjoyed the 1er as much as the 'Z' OH has an e81 123d SE which again has very good economy but goes like
off a shovel
would be nice to change that for a 1er vert one day, or keep it and maybe persuade her that a Z4MR would be a nice addition to the chompers fleet
I did offer PVR £10k for his old banger but he has not seen the sence to accept this very good offer

Must say, I did miss the roar of the M engine, but for the kind of driving I did at the time (mainly city/local) the 1er was ample in comparison. Had the Z4MC for 2.5 years and loved every minute of it though, and have been keeping a keen eye on prices again recently.
Never drove a 123d as thought I'd never get in the 120 after. How does it compare against you 20d?

204 bhp for the 1er against as you know 177 bhp for the 5er. To be honest the OH is now getting slightly better mpg than me 48.7 against my 46ish however my journeys are mainly local and hers are longer on faster following roads + she drives with feather feet just to prove she can get better consumption than me and hers in manual too + Start/Stop ED which does seem to help. the23d has seemlees power and you need to keep an eye on the speedo as you can be the wrong side of the law very quickly. As I said it's an SE so looks quite discreet, fun when you come up against a Golf GTI or orther hot hatch
On 'Z' pricing they do look to softening a bit and looking great value against most of the other vehicles that I would consider. We will see, would love to have one one day. Maybe get a shot in PVR's if he is still talking to me

Thankfully its only scratching, not chipped but its still annoying.
Although I went over a roundabout I use virtually every ruddy day, so its my shocking driving ability that caused it!
