Thanks Sanj for your example, and highlights my point perfectly..
What is the trade off to keep to pre-remap levels of smoke from exhaust at kick-down Jason, much less power?
What I am trying to understand is, why even let it get that bad to embarrass anyone that experiences it (including me previously with a different remapping company, which I put down to a crude remap) , if it can be stopped at the remap stage?

So both my cars are old - they have no DPF. I think if I had a DPF in both, smoke after a remap would be no issue. The map on the X is perfect, virtually no smoke on kick down. The 1 Series has had a tweak but still more smoke than I'd like to see.
Of course, no kick down for ages will mean smoke for that initial clean out (I think).
I'd assume you would lose some power as a trade off for less smoke - I could live with that. The 1 Series was dyno'd at 157bhp. The remap gave me 202bhp with a tiny boost pressure increase. After the tweak, not sure what it kicks out now, but even 190bhp would do me.

204bhp and the 218bhp x3 will go to 260-270bhp

Thanks Jason - still pondering and also thinking about changing to an F25. Have you got a map for the 30d or 35d?

On these 4.0d extra Bhp and mpg
306bhp will go to 365bhp and 700nm of torque
If you search on this forum you will find posts from other forum members who have had our Remaps on these 4.0d with there comments and there mpg after the remap

Thinking about having my X5 3.0sd remapped. How long does it take at your facility? Had them before on other cars with before and after dyno only taking an hour or so.. but that's a generic map. I assume yours is more bespoke?
Thanks.

Jason, are you able to do anything with the F15 model yet? Also my time is split between Edinburgh and Aberdeen - do you have anything in those areas?
Cheers
