Makes a new one a lot more appealing :)

Keep us posted when you have your test day.

Still expensive and sadly lacking a desirable option here and there.

You can’t for example have adaptive cruise - a feature I really like and use a lot on my 50d

Equally you can spec red leather which I think really makes the interior much brighter and more appealing rather than black, white (which I also like but is difficult to keep clean) or brown.

Just had a good look around in this one.......

I understand a certain Non-Brit is about to take it for a thrashing (in second of course!)

:))

It's a lovely machine  :)

However I'm not sure it's worth £15000 more than an M50d to be honest - sure the growl and grunt is lovely but aside from that I simply couldn't justify the spend (and it also wouldn't be as well spec'd as my 50d at that cost either!)

I bet it's a laugh to drive but possibly too large and heavy to throw around so the power seems to wasted.

While I don't have the x5m, the x6m is remarkably a lot of fun on twisty roads, but there is still a lot of metal moving around to be called a sports car.
It is however obscenely quick, and probably the answer to a question No one ever asked

Back in the country, so will schedule a drive.

Besides the active cruise which is not possible, what options do you have that the M does not come with standard? I noticed HUD, active Xenon, speed limit display, Apple play etc and I would spec the sun roof and the cameras again as I like them on my current 40d.

Mine is fully loaded minus the LED headlights and night vision.
If I could I would add the LED lights but there is a point to how much money you spend on options.
In the end I opted for the BMW Individual leather seats and dash as this is an option that makes the interior a little more luxurious especially when I spend 2-3 hours a day driving it.
HUD and driving assistance plus is a great option as well.

Will test both but i expect the X5M to come out top in grin factor.

I have Loved my SD and its plenty fast but doesn't have the feel of petrol... I miss my old M petrol's :)

I like the idea of the new M5 so will try that also i think, i do love being up high since having the X5 though.
