As an update, I ordered the Atera Strada DL3 3-4 bike rack at £400 including the 4th bike rail.

It was a bit fiddly to add on the 4th rail - the instructions were rubbish and despite there being loads of videos on You tube for the carrier, none that I found actually covered the adding the 4th rail bit.

Once done, it was a doddle to fit onto the car - 5 second job. Putting the bikes on took half an hour in the end as I had to fiddle about with the first one after I had all four on, to get the handles that hold the bike frame all connected properly. That said, thereafter taking the bikes off and putting them on again after our cycle was easy and took 10 minutes tops. Taking the rack itself off is as easy as putting it on.

I'd definitely recommend the Atera Strada DL3 if you want to carry 4 bikes on a towbar.
