Just a note to provide some feedback on my remap to anyone that may be considering letting B&W tinker with your ECU!!
Bought My X5 in February of this year - 3.0D Sport. Although a bit quicker than other 4x4's that I had driven I felt it was still sluggish and that I had to really work it hard to get it going, this obviously had a pretty negative effect on mpg. Normal driving over a couple of weeks I averaged 29mpg. Saw the note on the forum about Jason from B&W and his special deal for forum members so got in contact. Flew down to Houndslow the following Saturday morning to drop the car in. After a test drive Jason was happy he could see no issues preventing him with re-mapping and sent me off for a beer and lunch.
Not long after that I returned to the garage to collect the car. As soon as I pulled away I could feel the difference, much sharper throttle response, not needing to work the car to get her going as much and when going flat out, it's pretty fast, seriously! At the time my other car was a 911 C4S and the X5 still felt like it was pulling hard!!!
Since the remap my MPG is averaging 34.4 which I am well chuffed with. Coupled with the performance gains and the discounted price I have no complaints. I've had a couple of queries since the map and Jason has been on hand to advise which I appreciate.
So to anyone thinking about it - Go for it!

Hi. I was PaulX5 on the old forum and can recommend having Jason giving your X his care and attention
Similar to the results above, my e53 3d became far more responsive and quicker due to Jason's handy work. I had around a 5 mpg improvement.
Mine was done over 3 years ago and Jason has been servicing the car ever since.

When you say test drive what sort of things is he looking for? I'm tempted and have been for a while but its a bit of a treck for me.
Cheers

from the 4.6i we can gain an extra 25-30bhp with an extra 27-30 nm of torque
we can also make the remap smoothe or agressive just depends on how you want it
you will get improved throttle resonce, more toruqe for a wider range, more power, improved gear changes, flat spots removed

Has anyone had their 4.8is done?
I really want to get mine done now but just waiting to see if I can link it up with a meet or if I need to go to London for something to help justify the 4 hour drive and the £140 fuel bill...
Turks.

Hi I have owned BMW's for the past few years, I have always wanted to remap them but after reading scary story's, it has always put me off. I have never found anyone that comes highly enough recommended that I would trust to do this. If I lived closer I would definately have my X5 3.0d remapped after reading so many happy reviews.
Perhaps the guys from Northern Ireland / Ireland need to arrange a group buy and bring Jason over (If only there was enough from here interested on the forum)
