Hey mogsyman, I'm guessing you using vines gatwick? I've got two m50d both from there. I took delivery of my latest in March. You should check out the multifunction instrument display. I have one with and one without and I highly recommend it! Also check out the extended leather dashboard and doors as well as alcantara headlining. I'm in Crawley if you wanted to see mine as its good to see one with the standard trim and one without. Latest one has great spec, mf instrument display, HUD, ceramic controls, m performance brake kit, 22" m performance alloys, alcantara headlining, leather dash and doors, comfort seats, rear blinds and privacy glass, harmon kardon. Both from gatwick (Steve Jeeves). Happy for you to have a play.

Hi and thanks for the post.

In order of your questions:

I opted not to have the Multi-function display panel simply because given 5 minutes with the red dials whilst in sports mode I'd want to hit it with a hammer, it looks shocking and I'm sorry to say for me and only for that reason.........I'm oot.

I would like to have the extended leather dashboard and well as doors etc. however I had to draw the line somewhere. I'm sure these are great but having seen the standard fit I'll have to live with it.

I've mentioned the performance brake kit and they mentioned that they had a customer who had one fitted, you're clearly that customer! I have blue calipers on my f10 M5 and they do look the part and are on the X5 will give better braking. The cost in the UK is circa £3000 fitted which is a huge amount, granted you can buy from the US at a touch over £2k plus taxes etc. I was going to see how the standard setup looked/felt and go from there.

I'd love to see your car and I'm just south near Horsham.

If I told you I've not even sat in a 50D let alone either been driven or driven one would you believe me

I'm around all next week and can take time away from work if that helps?

Drop me a line and we can go from there.

Just had a call from my dealer and my car is now code 5055 which means it's about to go into production which is all pretty exciting.

I've also been told hat Apple Play will be available in cars built from week 31 as a download from the connected drive.

Blurb......

For BMW’s produced from August (week 31) for F25 X3, F26 X4F15 X5, F16 X6, F85 X5 M and F86 X6 M.

Vehicles must be fitted with BMW Professional Media system (609) with the latest iDrive software (ID5) and one of the following options Enhanced Bluetooth with wireless charging (6NW) or Rear Seat Entertainment (6FR).

Apple CarPlay Preparation enables the wireless use of your iPhone
including selected third party apps in your BMW. Unlike the integration for
most other manufacturers the connection in the BMW is wireless ensuring
maximum convenience for the user.
• Smartphone content such as iMessages, SMS, Telephony, Entertainment,
Apple Maps and other selected third party apps can be displayed and
operated on the iDrive.
• Operation is completed via the normal iDrive control methods such as the
iDrive controller, touch or voice input (methods available vary based on
vehicle specification).

Cost is £230

Sounds very nice and almost the same as mine.

I haven't de-badged the car although I'm thinking I should really!

You could always do it later... I never have badges on any car and when the salesman pointed out it says 'SOD' on the back, my mind was made up!

Never thought of that  :))

I think it's more the fact that it's got ///M and it isn't really combined with the fact it looks a bit shit (for want of a better phrase!)

I ordered my E70 de-badged, but when I ordered my F15 the salesman suggested not specifying that and he would get them removed pre-delivery. That way you could choose exactly what ones you did and didnt want. I took that route and you could not tell the badges had ever been there.

Well, the car started build two days ago and has now left the plant  8)

I'm told by BMW it will be in the country mid-August (which would appear to be amazingly fast!) however I'm going to delay delivery until mid-September.

Getting a bit excited now to be honest  :)

I would have said that date was pushing it, but it depends if there is a ship already loading and if it's making other stops between Charleston and Bremerhaven before coming to the UK (Southampton) then into Thorne and back to the Dealer.....

Over on F30Post, lots of people have been receiving their cars directly from Southampton rather than via Thorne so will be interesting to see.

@mogsyman - we should meet for a photo shoot as mine is planned for mid September also!

I would have also said the date was a bit quick, but apparently their system is accurate so it could simply be fortuitous (albeit not taking delivery when it arrives  :'( )

And yes, would be good to meet and compare cars when it arrives  8)
