It's cheaper to fix the sunglasses holder if it doesn't shut than pano roof if it doesn't shut. Hmmmm which now?

Sunglasses and a pair of Primark readers go in the centre box lid. I don't have a phone in there.

Panny here too.

Just to add, mine has flip down glasses thingy and Bluetooth mic. So they're not mutually exclusive. Don't BMW sometimes have "storage pack" extras on their options lists ( or something like that ) ?
any sign of the number yet Sanj?
Here you go 514482580579

BUT looking on RealOEM they seem to have dropped the last digit.

I can sea a '...58' and '...59' on there but not this one. May be worth phoning parts...:scratchhead:

Sorry for the late reply....work stuff got in the way

that's damn annoying after you've taken the trouble to photo it
Not sure if RealOEM takes wild cards...even usng the 11 digits of 51448258057 comes up blank .... but never fear not stumped yet

thanks

edit

the bit we're lookin for is a replacement for part 24
here
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do ... g=51&fg=40

strangely when you look on earlier cars the diagram shows part 24 but not in the listing

That photo you took....is that the console or the glasses holder attached to it?

The whole console piece as one (number was on the back, in the middle) - the part 24 is not needed, just part 5 (which is what come's as one piece).

Right...this where I think we're up to

I have a part 5 51448258061 which is the overhead console big bit....but where one might expect find the sunglasses drop down cartridge (for the sake of another description) I have panel part 24 filling it in because it might be a Cover ULS as BMW calls it

you have a part 5 514482580579 which is the overhead console big bit....which include the sunglasses drop down cartridge (for the sake of another description). part 24 for your car you might expect to be the sunglasses drop down cartridge on its own if it were listed but we can't even find such a part 5 514482580579 let alone the cartridge if it were available seprately

Phoned Parts for you and they confirm that 061 should be the sunglasses holder - but I'm not convinced! Comes in at £1951 plus VAT...

Well that's public spirited of you...thanks very much

IIRC 061 is mine 057 was yours but never mind

They must have give you a price for the console, the alarm within...the roof lining attached, the roof above....and a fitter to install it :o and some one to give counselling on your overdraft

The drop down bit must be cheap (and a seperate part) as you wouldn't expect to replace the lot....surely :(

Cheeky gits! Ask me for anything at the Meet and you're on your own! £19.57 for the record!

He did say defo the sunglasses holder included but I don't think it will be. They just can't find this part number!?!?

We have looked in the past in Jeegnesh's car and that has the internal alarm sensors (I think that's what the fins in the plastic are) in the same place where my holder is. In mine the internal alarm thingy is in the b-pillar area - and Jig doesn't have one there....?

Where are yours?
