Hi, new to the X5 and coding! My E70 is a 2012 build on a 62 plate, and two weeks in am delighted with it. I read with interest the possibility of coding the mirrors, rather than having to push the button each time, so I purchased the requisite adaptor and Carly App. I'm pretty sure I have followed all the steps and the App allows me to enable the feature and writes the code back to the car ok, but sadly it doesn't seem to work, even if I hold the lock button on the fob. I did manage to code the digital speedo, so I don't think I'm doing too much wrong. I'm wondering whether my car does not have the required options to support this feature. Can anyone tell me what options are needed to support this? Thank you

coding needs to be selected in two places for the autofold mirrors!! happened with two X5's i did via icarly. No longer have X5 so cannot go and tell you which menu it is, but basically have a good look at all the module settings and there is another there for coding folding mirrors!!

You need to code CAS and FRM modules for mirrors to fold

I have tried to get the Carly app from the App store but it keeps telling me that it is unavailable. I managed to get the Lite version via the Carly website but still don't know where I can get the full app from. Any tips?

Are you trying to get it on an iPad or iPhone? If on an iPad you need to change the search parameters to "iPhone only" or it won't show up in search results.

Ok thanks. I've got it now. Can I still use it on iPad?

Utterly brilliant thread!
Followed instructions on here, picked up an ELM 327 adaptor and coded those mirrors to auto fold.
Was confused when it did work after setting on CAS but then saw this:

You need to code CAS and FRM modules for mirrors to fold

Also done digital speedo and auto locking doors at 4mph.
The number of options available is huge and I will play with these settings later!
At £45 it is terrific value !

They also keep improving and adding new settings.
A few weeks ago I was able to code my E70 to be able to close the powered tail lift using the dashboard button or the remote control, and not just the button in the tailgate itself. As standard, you can only open the tailgate from the dash button or remote, but could not close it. It's a small improvement, but it all adds to the user experience and enjoyment of our BMW.

I'm the first to admit that I'm a techy retard but after reading these posts I thought,"even I could do that" so I bought the Carly app and the ELM327 and I failed.
I cant get past the first hurdle of the bluetooth connection. The app tells me that I have to buy the Carly adapter? I'm reluctant to spend another £40 on an adapter when several of you on here got the coding done using the ELM327.
Any helpful suggestions would be very appreciated.
Update
OK I got the Bluetooth working and did a diagnostic check of all ecu's. I got some error codes some of which I'm not to sure about so I will investigate them later but non to do with engine as far as I could see.
Then I went to do the mirror coding and the CAS bit was applied fine but when I tried to apply the FRM bit my heart sunk.
See my post "Bricked FRM"
