Funny how that get conveniently forgotten.  I wonder what the true Cardbon emissions are, they'll be lower but not zero (as the Ads would have you believe).

It's the range issue that still bothers me.  The Leaf is just a bit tight and could with being another 40 or so more for normal use.  Good prices and deals around though, especially with the £5k Gov't grant for some.

its something i have often wondered, im sceptical about the whole concept of electric cars, however ive never driven one, tbh both my ml and my van could be electric as the range per day would be no issue, but for me there a no go until there a common cheap alternative, you only have to look at the figures on the pcp of the i3 to realize the only benefit of that is if you want to be seen to be green, because financially you would be better with a a3tdi, 118d, polo tdi etc etc
[/quote]
You should at least take a test drive.  I took extended drives in the i3 and Leaf for no better reason than to pass time while I was doing some training in Aberdeen, and here I am a few months later looking to buy one.

Congrats and commiserations lol.

Interesting direction from the X to a Leaf. Can see the financial benefits of it but for me just can't justify it.

I've had the X 5 years neatly now so can see where the time has gone lol.

There's  method in my madness. Nissan are launching a new model in two years with a 50% increase in range. The wife can then get that car as a company car and with the money I've saved i can look at a more impractical steed for me  >:D waiting the two years before purchasing won't work as I would have to sell the EV Concept to her by proving it.

Can't believe you have your X6 for 2.5 years already ??? Feels like last year.

And of course, no need to go anywhere else for your forum abuse fix  :))

I know, I was surprised myself. As for the staying at this abusive forum where I'm bullied and ridiculed at every opportunity............of course I'm staying  ;)

heres some green electric for it  :)) :))

Ha ha

To be honest that is not the reason I too am considering one. I'm not interested in the green bit

If the prices comes out as quoted then it is an absolute no brainer for me

I spend that a week in fuel easily and with my general small commute on average week day then it makes sense. The porsche only gets to 20 degrees oil temperature  on the way to work which is not doing it any good.

Gatwick where I go through spells of travelling from is only a 40 mile round trip so that is doable too. May not risk a London trip but I'll tske a big dirty V8 for that anyway!!

This would then save tyres and expensive consumables on the main cars

With Don's help, my research is continuing !!

Ive been into Nissan dealer local to me thismorning.  The figures quoted here the salesman was astounded by and he could only get monthly payment to £211 I think and that was via doing it on friends and family scheme with 23% off list.

He looked at Dons post and said there must be battery rental on top of the figures don is quoting @ £70 a month.  Can you confirm or refute this Don?

And also mentioned the GFV of Dons deal was £3k above where the Nissan System was £11000

Ive been quoted £154 a month with £500 down on a Visia plus model, and have an extended test drive ( 1 week ) booked for Tuesday.  This will be interesting.  Im probably going to go for it and get Shot of Wifes Mini, We will use this for all the silly little runs about town etc, work commutes and school runs! should be a big saving here then.

An interesting experiment it is too.  I'm still looking into it and the results from those that do take the plunge will be very useful once I know what is going on in my world.....which as some know is a little stranger than most. :doctor:

we get nowhere near 80 miles a day ( real life charge capacity ) so a charge over night will do us perfectly.  Only 4 miles to work and 2 mile school run

Haha I can imagine - talks about a 7hr charge time at home!

Still if I can get a free motor for the run to the childminder every morning for a week - worth a shout.
