Re: Winter Tyre Info and Discussion Thread
Coming back to the tyre pressure question raised earlier, having previously had my tyres pumped up hard for a fully loaded vacation, I've now lowered them to the recommended 2.0 bar at the front and 2.4 at the back (conti 255 55 18H SSR winters) for normal use / loads. Looking at the tyres now they do look a bit too flat to me (not just compared to how they were). Are these pressures reasonable or do most add a bit more in?

I only use the manufacturer's stated pressures. Never had any issues.

Summer Rubber back on....
Had to 'have words' though as the car came back with black boot prints on the cream leather where a valeter obviously thought is was a good idea to clean the roof of the car by standing on the seats!
Car went straight back and profuse apologies offered. Leather cleaned.

Unfortunately I suspect that as they're likely to be East European, they may not speekee eeeengleesh, let alone read it!!
Still, they will be asked to forego that facility in future.

I've seen that before and no matter how many times you see it, it's just as sickening. No one survived that for sure.

Cheers but
Really impact was minimal, I was going 60mph before I spun out into on coming lorries. I spun out 1 an half turns befor le impact 1. I was going to work at 06:00 coming off the M18 to join the M1 I spun on the M18 in to the M1, so say the lorry was going 60mph, I was doing 60 before the spin.
These are the pics I tuck when I got home.
The lorry hit me at the side then spun me around then hit me at the front OSF light area.
Then ended up the wrong was back on the M18 hard shoulder, with the back seat full of snow. The back door failed to shut after the first contact, the rear seat belt held it shut abit.
After exchanging details the car limped 10 miles back home.
Pic of the NS of the car in perfect condition.
The driver of the lorry sued me, well my insurance as he was injured, plus claimed for damaging the lorry. This was false as no damage was found when he inspected it, but needed a new fuel tank and fuel tank strap. Unpack was front only so don't no how that happened lol.
But I got £3200 for the right off Scoob and then the owner of my first BM been the 530d, and now the beastyX.
