Parking heater remote start- Enabling
Re: Parking heater remote start- Enabling
hi stuart and welcome to the forum!
aux vent is indeed just cold air and pretty useless afaik! a scanner can enable the aux heating option tho.
or you could make your own remote device to power up pin1(green and white) as you have already tried.
but whatever, it seams you will need a tiptop battery to keep it going long enough to warm the car.

Re: Parking heater remote start- Enabling
sturach,
The remote idea on this board of sending 12v to pin one of the heater will still work regardless of the OBC having the recoded aux heating function.
The scanner I bought is off ebay BMWScanner 1.4 which allows the enabling of other functions, they are about £75-80, but I do rent mine out at £25 per week if you just want to use on for a one off. PM me if your interested.
Mark.

is there some you couldn't get working?
I know you can program the keys so as you get in the car the steering wheel, seats, mirrors adjust to the user can yours do this aswell

Re: Parking heater remote start- Enabling
I enable parking heater, acoustic sound when the alarm enables/disables. pdc sensor sensitivity, and a bunch of other stuff.
As for the keys, yes I enabled key memory, which seems to work for heater settings mirrors etc, but what I cant seem to do (I must be missing something) is get the seats to adjust automatically when I unlock the car, still have to press the button on the side of the seat.
Anyone else have this working?

[quote=""BL02WAS""]waka dont want to teach you to suck eggs etc but you are setting aux heating and not aux ventilation?? as aux vent is only cold air not aux heating!! two separate things.

Re: Parking heater remote start- Enabling
[quote=""philip600""]Hi,
Recently had my heater replaced as it wasn't working correctly.
The indy that did the work discconnected my remote relay
I reconnected it but still nothing when using the remote or when starting the car from cold ( 8'' snow here ) So I reset it for lockout, switch ignition to position 1 ( lights on dash on but engine not started ) and pull fuse for auxilary heater ( think it was number 59 in glove box ) and refit fuse after 30 seconds. Then try either starting engine from cold or put 12v green / white wire on heater.
You should here a fan noise & then eventually get diesel fumes from small exhaust under passenger side fornt footwell.
Hope this helps.
Mine seems to be working ok now, either by remote or when starting from cold. ( ticking noise when driving off from cold tells me its working
)

Thanks for the info. Tried that. Still no joy.
Looks like my webasto is knackered. Shame, it was bloody useful when it worked![Sad :(](./images/smilies/sad.gif)

Nige - is your cars battery 110% - might be worth checking it - i thought my webasto had stopped working - finally traced to a dead cell in the battery

Hi,
Heater should fire when engine is started in this cold weather, battery voltage would only be an issue when starting the heater remotely.
If heater not starting up with engine it would suggest a problem.
Is it making any type of noise ?
On mine you could here a fan start up but it would not ignite & then eventually shut down.
Don't know what failed as warranty paid to replace whole unit although I suspect the glow plug.
Hope you get it sorted, I think it's one of the best things on the car in thios weather
Phil.

Also take a look/feel under the passenger door sill, about a foot or so under the car where the Webasto exhaust outlet is.
You should be able to see and feel the fumes in this cold weather.

Hi Mcc05
hi there
check out this item on ebay is this the same as yours
Item number: 220703678250
I would just get yours as you say to enable the features as you would only need to do this once
but would like to check future errors myself and clear them
regards

Stuart,
Yep looks like the same thing I bought, I just got it from someone in the UK, just in-case I got hit with import duty, but it did cost me a bit more.
