An update from me....
So I tested removing the monitor and replacing to make sure I could do before I bought one from eBay . got that to work so was confident and ready to buy.
Before I could Mrs says need to go shopping
. Put on A/c and start car and everything is all working again !
And has been working co consistently for past few days.
So first time going shopping with wife has saved me money!
I actually think the base issue was resolved by combination of pulling out monitor and taking out power cable and cooling car down.
Many lessons learnt and hope this helps someone in future.
