It was lovely, it had every option ( genuinely ) full spec, heated seats, elec fold mirrors, rear blind elec, harmon kardon , ski hatch, 3rd rear headrest, digital tv, nav, sunroof, nav, assist, xenons, csl steering rack standard as was the CS , CSL larger front brakes, arguably best colour for e46.  Was on a 55 plate 2005 model so also last of the cheaper tax bracket.  ( private plate on it in pics )

Love the v8 M!! They are great cars!! carbon fibre roof is stunning.

These E70's are lovely though hey!! I've just bought an aero kit to fit to mine!! just won an absolute bargain on eBay!! brand new abs plastic never fitted to car ever and sprayed correct colour to boot!!! £150 winning bid :)

Could never afford the E46 M3 so we bought the '05 330Cd MSport vert instead.  It might even come out of storage this year too........if this bloody rain ever stops!!

I feel the E46 shape is the 'classic' for the 3-series.  Never been sure of the 'bangle' cars and the current versions are still too new.

I do agree the E70 is a cracking motor & out of all the cars I have owned both me & the mrs loved the X5 big time, you certainly had a cracking M3 too.  :)

For me personally though I much preferred the V8 in my X5 over the V8 in the M3 by a country mile though as the M3 never really sounded like a V8 & below 6k revs it responded like a 4 cylinder engine which did my head in!
