Well the insurance for the X5 came in from my existing company at £475 about £5 more than last year even with an extra years NCD. So I decided to do the comparison sites.

Well b*gger me I was getting quotes of £225, which was  to good to be true, well yes, but even when adjusted for NCD protection and legal managed a price of £278. Then tried another company this time Admiral and there's included legal but not NCD and when I added that it came in at £266, even better.

So I rang them and had a chat and yes £266 was the price, then the chap asked about other cars. Since I also have a smart Brabus Fortwo for getting to work and the insurance is due 1 day later, he said he would quote me. The price from old company was £221 with business use to meetings and their best was £201 not bad but Admiral came in at £181, so it's getting even better if I add that car to the policy.

They asked about the other car Audi TT roadster 3.2 and in June last year it was £365. And if I put the TT on with new company it would be £255 for the year or £170 from jun 14 to February 15.

It gets better as a result of the smart & TT on the policy now the X5 price reduced from £266 to £228. And overall I just saved £400 on insuring the 3 cars, so basically got 1 car for free. The cars keep their own NCD and the excess is less than last years.

I was amazed and so would suggest you shop around especially if you have more than one car. :D
