I have a set of both for the X6 and the 19" look lost in the wheel arches - even with a staggered fit. 20" fill the arch much better, but make the ride firmer.

Ticking the option for the 20" wheels would always be the first option I would go for, however it was the bigger wheels that caused the chipping on the E70.
Can't see it making any difference to the F15 whether 19 or 20, I reckon both will cause a problem with the air vent.

Yeah just have to see how daft pvrs E70 looks on 19s, noddy vehicle.

Oh wow, I really hope this doesn't turn out to be an issue, because I've ordered a new F15 X5 30d SE for summer delivery...
The possibility that BMW have overlooked this seems incredibly unlikely. Maybe the flow of water/stones when driving along is in a direction that just doesn't get into that air vent. If it does turn out to be a problem, I can see myself trying to stuff something in the hole to block it up...

To be honest it's not an issue on mine after 3000 miles no chips only a bit of tar as normal on white cars in that area, chipping of the inside of the arch extension more of an issue but all that's protected now I've fitted front mudflaps.
