I was fairly lucky with mine bought it in sept 2010 & it was a one owner 2004 model with 37,000 on it, sold it with 52,000 on it & it's been sold twice since I think the fuel costs can surprise some people though...me included!

As a guide my 50 thousand mile facelift 4.4 manages 18 mpg on short local hops and 24 mpg on longer motorway runs, I drive it smoothly but not unduly slowly , treat it to vpower only and love it to bits  ::)

Might you be selling it next year? Lol.

Don be put off by a few extra miles on them. They can take I as long as they have been looked after properly. There are pics of mine in the for sale section as I'm selling my Alpina Dynamic alloys. Mines got 114k on it now and still going very strongly. The engines are superb.

Cosmetically the 4.8is is on another level to a 4.4 and much rarer hence finding more 4.4's for sale meeting your requirements. You can of course mod it and add the 4.8is kit.

What is the 4.8 kit other than the back and front bumper add on?

I would definitely agree with this, it's an awesome powerplant & built to last, it's arguably the best engine I've experienced for sure.

My worry wouldn't be the engine, more all the other stuff at high miles like the gearbox. The failure rate seems almost inevitable. Unless of course I could find one that's already had it replaced.

It'll be for sale in Dec or January as I've a new X5 on order 

I would have loved to take it off you but I've not room for it til April

No problem , mine has BMW warranty until mid march so I'd planned to sell before warranty renewal to give the new owner peace of mind and the chance to renew.

Exhaust, front/rear bumpers, wide arch extensions and running boards.

Plus, you will find the 4.8's out there to be massively higher specced, so dimming/folding side mirrors, bigger brakes, satnav, TV, heated seats, etc etc as most were bought by the wealthier out there so specced em better at build.

Woofer - I might be interested in yours after all. What price were you looking for?

I'm looking for 9500, its a facelift model has comms pack inc iPhone compatibility ,navigation,  6 cd, electric glass sunroof , folding mirrors, extending load floor, sun protection glass, silver with black leather , BMW load space liner

great condition , MOT and Tax until June 2014, warranty March 2014, 3 green lights last serviced in May ,  5mm Michelin Diamaris all round.

That's a bit over what I was planning on spending, but wish you the best in selling it. Sounds like an awesome example.
