Wow 50% increase is a lot, I hope it is a Quattro!
You were lucky with only a fine - I heard they are really tough on the over 100mph grade now

It is indeed a quattro and it needs it !
Yeah they are harsh on you, they give the English a massive fine because they cannot give you points.
It was a massive long road on a really hot day and the sun beaming down so i just thought i would give it a little test, At the end of the road a copper stood in the middle of the road and flagged me to the side of roundabout, I best not say on here what i said when they flagged me to the side
)
They took me to the police station and had to get a interpreter on the phone and everything.

That looks like a good deal, as its 20k less than I paid for my one and its a similar spec.
It does shift but doesn't get anywhere near the 37.7 mpg they claim, unless you have the ability to drive in a vacuum that is.
I've only ever looked at my third row once. Didn't even want it as an option really but my car was pre-reg.

Yeah it is quite a good spec and it has HUD.
No i don't think many manufactures do what they claim they do unless you drive in the conditions they test them in which is highly unlikely.-
Yeah, i have no use for the 3rd row tbh its just extra weight i would rather have the underfloor space but as yours was a pre reg then fair enough.
Car is stunning btw

My X5 has standard suspension and 18" wheels and I only found the ride acceptable on bumpy b roads when I replaced the tyres with non run flats.
It's really subjective, so I recommend a long test drive before deciding whether you find it 'smooth and comfortable' or not.
I don't think you'll have a problem with shoulder wear on 19" wheels and standard suspension.

I've just finalised my purchase of a low mileage xDrive 40D M Sport to replace my late '07 30D SE. On the latter, we've been getting a reliable 33-35mpg over the last 20,000 miles since remapping it with Ecotune map via an iflash unit. Now, in theory, the 40D should (given similar and pretty enthusiastic driving habits) return better than that as it's combined mpg is 37.7 versus the 32.5mpg of the older car. If it doesn't, then it'll be back to Stan at Ecotune for a stage 1 remap. Anyone else got experience of the difference in mpg between the pre-facelift E70 and the 8-speed ones? And +1 for replacing the runflats with tyres whose sidewalls aren't actually concrete - make a huge difference.

Thanks for the input once again.
Can anybody else help answer my questions please ?
Another question is, What needs to be replaced at what mileage and age ? Cambelt, Water Pump, Oil, spark plugs,Brake pads/discs etc..
Also do they have blue number plate lights as standard ? because i saw a white one with them on and it looked good

Didn't change any of what you mention other than pads and disks at 20k
Yes I think they are led on later LCI cars

Yeah it looked smart with the blue Led number plate lights, It also had the black+white bmw badges which give it an extra effect, Is it easy to remove the current badge and replace with the Black and white ones ?
Also, How come some of the X5 40D's have paddle shift and some don't ?
I have seen a spacsaver spare wheel on ebay for the X5 E70:

What do you think ?

I think paddles only became standard on M Sport from the LCI onwards. Optional extras before that and on other trims. Only offered as standard on the X5M and the X6 range.

Life Cycle Impulse - a facelift to most of us. For the E70, it's the point at which the angel eyes became LED rather than yellow filament. The 40d came out as part of the mid-life facelift which brought 8-speed transmissions and the updated version of the 3-litre twin turbodiesel along with cosmetic changes.

Oh a facelift yeah haha, Yeah i have researched the changes already.
Another question.
The X5 im looking at has Media Package which includes the Sat Nav, is this a 7 Digit Postcode Satnav or a half postcode and street name ?
