Thanks Condor - look forward to seeing the photos. I haven't called Tyremen yet - mainy because I'm not looking forward to a discussion about having to potentially pay for a new front and a new rear - I don't see that they are going to give me them for free as I've been driving on them for 3 months. But I do agree that they are usually very helpful. And the guy who fitted them didn't notice/or comment and he is usually pretty much spot on with stuff but I cant get hold of him right now as he is on holiday.

And I have an MOT coming coming up in 3 weeks so we will see then how we fare .......

Ok am I just being daft, but to me it looks like the left one is pushing outwards and the right one is pushing inwards? And shouldnt they both be pushing outwards?

No - They are both pushing inwards. look at the taper on the 'swoosh' on the tread pattern. On both tyres the widest part of the swoosh is on the outside edge forcing the water towards the inside edge (narrowest part of the swoosh). I cant see that it makes a difference is the water is pushed in or out as long as they both go the same way ?

phew, that was difficult to believe.

width of the thread being narrow on one side and wider on the other by itself doesn't push water.. the direction of the thread from one side to another is supposed to work alongside that..

i was confident that these were asymmetric directional tyres..

but if this reading is correct.. who's to argue..

still beats me to understand the good of having the left and the right threads running differently! what for?..
