I have just purchased a 2011 E70 4.0D M Sport from a BMW main dealer and have just noticed that the rear bumper is slightly raised for about 5" on the right hand off/ side and when closing the lower boot lid it catches and pushes the bumper outwards very slightly. Hadn't noticed this before as the boot lid closes without any issue. Can now see, with the lower boot lid partially open, that the r/h inner clip is loose but I can't remove it or get it to go back into place.
Have now found that the left hand n/side inner clip is broken and have managed to remove it, but the boot lid doesn't catch here.
Has anyone managed to find details of modified clips etc. mentioned above? I am well p****d off as I asked the dealer to check this mod out as I had seen the blogs on here, but I now suspect that nothing was done :)).

I got mine replaced by BMW, Not sure if it was warranty or sales paid for it but I had just bought the car and even pointed it out when I first viewed it. They told me it cost them £1500 for new bumper and paint etc...

Just to resurrect this thread; does anyone have details of the repair 'kit' or PuMA, TSB, etc that I can have in case mine does this again...

When negotiating for the car, I wanted the front end resprayed because of stone chip damage from motorway miles (big target I guess) and they wouldn't replace the bumper as well. They have made it almost perfect but reading how easy it seems they pop up again, I'd like to have something in armoury should I need to go back in the near future.

Just for info I looked at one of these the other week as an approved used buy. Showed exactly what has been described. Sales man was very apologetic and that it would be looked at and repaired  if I was going to buy the car. Other X5s not showing similar on his forecourt but this one stuck out a mile.
