Re: Aux Heating query
so what the difference is your screen just says "aux vent" or aux heating/vent"
Re: Aux Heating query
Aux Vent is a system that turns the fans on the ventilate the car at a prescribed time. It's supposed to cool the car down in hot days, but does not run the a/c so it isn't particularly effective.
The full system preheats the interior on cold mornings.

Re: Aux Heating query
So I'm guessing aux heating/vent was an optional extra? With the kit to heat the car ?
Re: Aux Heating query
Yes, but it can be enabled DIY. There's a looooonnng thread on how to do it on here somewhere...

Re: Aux Heating query
Hi grant......very easy job to enable aux heating with the bmw scanner. I bought one from china approximate £25 including postage.
I think you can either have....aux vent.....aux heat/ vent.......or aux heating.
I think if it says aux heat/vent then both are enabled. I didn't see the point in aux vent as the weather here is hardly the Caribbean , so all I have showing on my screen is aux heating ready for the cold months.
It's gonna be lovely going out to a warm defrosted car instead of spending 5 mins scraping ice off the windows then getting into a fridge.
Let us know how you get on.

Big grey metal box with a black lid on the front right (looking into the engine bay) wing with 'Thermo Top' written on it. Standard in all diesels, optional on all petrols (and rare).
