As for the pano roof, very common problem and certainly an easy fix that involves permanently disabling the rear section (might be one of the links Sanj posted). Front section you can use to your hearts content then with no problems.

I know there was a big thread started on this a few years back one of the fellas bought the parts and did a self fix but I can't find much info on here i'm guessing it must have been on the old forum

I had the same problem on mine. I did find a repair kit but didn't want to remove the cassette so went with the permanent fix. Below is a copy of the fix I got from another site, just can't remember which. Hope it helps.

I'll take a look for him tomorrow and see if I can help him out. Though he may be a bit weary if I whip out the hack saw and dremmel tool on his x5 sunroof
