I'm in Herts btw if you guys mean me by msport that is?
Regards to the activating the features Its pretty simple procedure that anyone with the correct cable can do (common sense approach required),I gained my knowledge through various forums one being Bmwcoding.
I'll be happy to help forum members acheive what they require.

Mpower ( not msport )!

Apologies Mpower !

I'm not that far from you in Hampshire. When I have the car all running nicely maybe we could talk about doing some coding :-)

The cable I use are from Hong Kong which are a good quality no issues at the moment.

Software are Inpa and Ncsexpert easily to find via google.

Hope this helps.

That download must include other models as well hence the size.

Yes its Mini,  Rolls Royce & Bmw, 41 individual downloads that can be done one at a time  :o so taking ages, my car has a recent software update so thinking i will be needing new daten files.

I am planning a few mods including 6NF & 6NR which I have already wired just need to code  :(

Regards to 6nr what year is your car,I believe on pre 2011 models 6nr (bmw apps) its just a case of coding as well as retrofitting the cabling from CIC and baseplate.
But after that date you'll need the FSC code to enable 6NR as well.

What cabling have you had to put in to get 6NF functioning?  I've got 6FL but due to a lack on knowledge by the sales team, 6NF got missed off, and there's no (official) retrofit.  If the salesperson and I had better understood the description in the brochure then it would not have been missed.  The Dealer was very apologetic but could do nothing as BMW would not tell them what needed adding and where.

It looks like some additional USB wiring (2nd port in armrest) is needed and possibly a different phone cradle system in the centre armrest to connect to it that the multimedia snap in adapter then drops into.

I'm not so bothered about 6NR as we've got the equivalent on the Mini and rarely use it, but 6NF would be handy.

The car has the Combox fitted already (6VC).

V49 daten files seems to be mainly for the latter models eg the F series that have just been launched I believe.

V49 does include files for E70 & E71, yes i will need a FSC code for the apps.

With regards to wiring I will try to make this simple, I have read a hell of a lot to get to where I am

The combox has 2 connectors one black (6FL) and one blue (6NF, 6NR) BMW say you should use a new base plate and cradle but its not necessary, you can run a new lead to the blue plug and fit a USB to the other end (there is a few options for this),
You then have to get the audio and video into the CIC/Combox, this is done via the Aux port for audio (this is only for syncing as the actual audio goes to combox via the USB as far as I can see) the video goes through a FBAS cable that is linked directly to the CIC, you  need a Apple AV cable (composite) which you have to adapt to fit your connections.

Above is very brief but its not that complicated, I have used BMW leads but have ordered bare HSD connectors so I am planning on making my own looms eventually, I may end selling them once I've tested them.

I have obviously got to code it,  I'm new to the coding and again I've read through tonnes of info, I'm hoping once I get my lead it then may make sense :)

I have researched the idea of retrofitting 6nr and as you've posted earlier you do need to fit the fbas - & + wires to the CIC and baseplate.
Are you going the dealers for the FSC code as they are the only ones who can sell the code and definately not do-able with the cable that you're getting.

For those wondering, this is a Combox...part number matches telematics with GPS so I'm guessing I need to change that for a later Mk3 (Media Version) made from 2011.

And this is how mine is wired....USB End

Other end....

There must be a patch cable that BMW make that goes from the blue connector to the centre console.  It's getting at the centre console that has me stumped.  I have got the phone cradle arm out (well unbolted) but that seems to be a pain to get to bits to get at the wiring too!!

Underside of baseplate....

Interestingly, the Combox on mine Part No: 84 10 924 179 was never fitted to the X6.  Mine was built in the first week that the Combox went into X6 builds (Week 40 2010) and is a European version that matches Euro built models but not US X series cars -  ???
